Discriminatory (FRAND) terms at our annual Intellectual Property Seminar. Our thriving Young Lawyers Division (YLD) hosted social gatherings, held a brown bag luncheon with Judge Selna, and participated in Constitution Day by volunteering at local high schools. Judges’ Night, our biggest annual event, is quickly approaching. We hope you will join us on October 18 to discuss the state of the Central District and watch as we present our organization’s highest honor, the Alicemarie H. Stotler Award, to renowned criminal de- fense attorney, former FBA/OC President, and pillar of the Orange County legal commu- nity, Kate Corrigan. Congratulations, Kate, on this well-deserved honor. Although I will pass the torch to incoming President, Van Nguyen, at Judges’ Night, we have a few more 2018 events that you won’t want to miss. On October 25, we will be hosting “Behind the Glass,” which allows lo- cal practitioners and staff the opportunity to tour the Clerk’s Office and see what happens behind the scenes. Our annual Criminal Practice Seminar, featuring FBI and Secret Service Agents on “Dark Web and Cryptocur- rency,” will be November 13. And last, but by no means least, Judge Selna will swear in new admittees to the Central District in De- cember. Watch for an announcement about the date soon. As my term as President comes to a close, I have an even greater appreciation for the hard work of our dedicated Board Members, close partnership with the judiciary, thriving YLD, committed staff, and steadfast spon- sors. Our chapter continues to thrive because of each of you. Thank you for the privilege of serving as your (Continued from page 3) President’s Message Page 4 FBA/OC President. I look forward to continuing to sup- port, and celebrating the successes of, our Chapter, and I hope you will do the same. See you at Judges’ Night. *Amy J.
